Beer & Curry – What a Pair!

There’s not many things I love more than Beer, but Beer with a cosy Curry is the ultimate treat. And since it’s National Curry Week, we thought we’d match some of our favourite Beers with a classic Curry – as if we need an excuse to have a bottle with dinner…

Tandoori Chicken with Siren’s Breakfast Stout

The smoky heat of Tandoori Chicken makes so much sense with a dark, creamy beer. Siren Craft Beer’s Breakfast Stout, with a touch of coffee and chocolate sweetness will wrap around the spice of the curry in a perfect combination.

Thai Green Curry with Hawkshead’s ITI

This session Pale is brewed with New Zealand hops, giving it citrus aromas and flavours of tropical fruit. It pairs beautifully with a creamy aromatic Thai Green Curry, cutting through it’s richness like an extra squeeze of lime.

Jalfrezi with Pilsner Urguell

You can’t deny that Lager and Curry is a match made in heaven, and Jalfrezi with a cold glass of Pilsner Urquell is the ultimate combo. With a slight sweetness that handles the deep tomato effortlessly, the refreshing hops love the onions and garlic that make a Jalfrezi our favourite curry.

Lamb Tikka Masala with Meantime’s Yakima Red Ale

This Beer is vibrant and fruity and mirrors the curry’s delicate spices in a lovely way. Creamy and smoky Tikka Masala is one of the UK’s favourite dishes and Yakima Red pulls out the subtle spicing whilst being robust enough to pair with Lamb.

Curry Goat with Hoegaarden

The savoury, herbal depth of Curried Goat needs a beer with sweetness and smoothness. The classic Belgian Wheat Beer Hoegaarden is brewed with Orange Peel and Coriander Seeds, so you get the sweetness and spice that pulls this pair together.
